Scott has been referred to as the new writer's coach and the writer's re-writer. He covers both fiction and non-fiction material including short stories, poetry, song lyrics, media scripts, books, news articles, ad campaigns, technical manuals, educational resources, web content, and ghostwriting.
He followed his major for Film, Radio, & Television Production at Minnesota State University: Moorhead with Biblical History & Literature at Northwestern College. In school, he continued pursuing his passion for scriptwriting, poetry, and storytelling.
Scott then served in the USAF, both in-country and overseas, working with Information, Communication, and Cryptographic Systems. During that service and after when he worked as a Network Engineer in Nevada, he became well versed in technical writing by producing operation guides and user manuals. He also wrote news articles, columns, and teaching materials for courses he taught and for curriculum led by other instructors.
These experiences gave Scott an early introduction to internet structure, platforms, applications, and web development. A very fortunate turn indeed with the crucial, daily role e-media now plays in our lives.
StreetCorner Press was founded in 2000, expanding on the evolving need for new technical writing as well as pursuing projects in the creative literary realm. Another bridge was crossed in 2004 when Scott teamed with Neil Riehle to develop Random Eye Studio with a dedication to illustrative storytelling in comics and graphic novels.
Scott serves as the current president of the Jackpine Writers' Bloc and its editorial board. JWB publishes The Talking Stick, a Minnesota literary journal promoting poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction, now in its 29th year of publishing.
